ReplyDeleteUntil Drudge came along, the NYT was setting the national conversation. Studies back that up. All the network news broadcasts were almost perfectly correlated with the NYT's presentation of topics--and views presented (and not presented). It was the JournoList of the 1980s and 1990s. Inculcation requires speaking in one voice. If TV news is the AV Dept. of the Democrat Party, the NYT made the assignments every day.
